Translation studies is a diverse discipline with interest in any translatorial activity from translation of poetry to localization, from interpreting to subtitling. Thanks to its dynamic development, the discipline now has its own specific range of research methods and unique ways of theorizing translation and interpreting. Increasing globalization, transnational flows and technological advances constitute both challenges and opportunities not only for the translator community, but also for translation researchers, who study trends, revisit traditional concepts and strive to explain translation intricacies.
We invite submissions to the special issue of Beyond Philology devoted to current perspectives in translation and interpreting studies. We especially encourage submissions related to one of the following themes:
-
emerging trends in translation and interpreting studies
-
translator’s role and translation professionalization
-
diachronic translation research
-
revisiting traditional concepts in translation studies
- interdisciplinarity in translation and interpreting studies
- process-oriented translation and interpreting studies
Please send your submissions to wioleta.karwacka@ug.edu.pl by 3 September 2018.
